Frequently Asked Questions
{beginAccordions}
Is there any special software required?
No. Our online banking platform is available on all internet browsers across all your devices as well as with the OneTouch Banking app.
Is online banking secure?
Yes. Elkton Bank and Trust Company’s Online Banking is built with several additional safeguards to ensure your account information remains secure. If your password is entered incorrectly more than 3 times, your banking profile will be locked for 30 minutes. If this happens more than three times, the lockout will become permanent and can only be cleared by an Elkton Bank and Trust Company employee. Your session will automatically be terminated after 15 minutes of inactivity.
What if my ACCESS ID and/or PASSWORD don't seem to work?
There are a couple of solutions to this problem. The most common issue is the placement of your caps lock key. Your access ID and password are case sensitive. The second most common issue is a complete lockout of your account. As a security feature, we lockout all accounts if an incorrect password is entered on the third try. The lockout session will last for 30 minutes. If you initiate the lockout three times, it becomes permanent. To reset a lockout, visit any Elkton Bank and Trust Company location or give us a call during regular business hours.

Toss out your stamps and go digital with Elkton Bank & Trust Company’s Bill Pay. Instead of paying each bill by hand, allow us to handle your monthly bills for you. Simply enroll through online banking or visit a branch to fill out an enrollment form.
Setting up payments is quick and easy. Just make sure your payee is already recognized (if not, registration takes 48-72 hours approval), and schedule for your payment for the date it is due. Payments must be scheduled before 6:00pm prior to the day payment is needed.
Please keep in mind: while you can schedule Bill Pay 24/7 through Online Banking, payments can only be initiated on business days. To provide sufficient processing time, choose a processing date at least 10 days before your bill payment is due.
Frequently Asked Questions
{beginAccordions}
How do I get started using Bill Pay?
Enroll through our online banking platform or come into any of our locations to fill out an enrollment form.
How soon can I start making payments using Bill Pay?
You can begin scheduling payments after your enrollment is processed by the Bank (usually 24 hours). Please refer to our fee schedule (located under “Fees and Charges) for pricing associated with this service. You will find most nationally recognized payees already available for your use. Local payees may need to be registered prior to the first payment to them. A new payee usually takes 48 – 72 hours for approval. Once established, however, those particular payees will be available for immediate use on subsequent visits.
How are payments delivered and how can I ensure that my payee receives my payment by the due date?
Payments must be scheduled no later than 6:00 pm prior to the day it is to be paid; however, payments can also be scheduled for future dates or on the same day each month. Although you can enter payment information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, payments can only be initiated on business days. Because of the time it takes to remit your payment to the payee, they will not receive the payment on the processing date (the date you instruct us to deduct the funds from the account). To provide sufficient time for payments to be received by your payee, the processing date should be a minimum of ten (10) business days before the bill’s actual due date.
Why does it take ten business days and sometimes more for payments?
We must send a check to the payee via US Mail. Once the payee receives the check, it may take a day or so for the payee to process and post the check to your account. Holidays must also be taken into consideration.
What should I do if a payee has not posted my payment?
First, be sure to allow a minimum of ten (10) business days for a payee to receive your payment. Contact your payee if the payment does not post within ten (10) business days of the date you requested the payment to be processed. As always, a copy of cancelled checks is maintained on file in case of any discrepancies. For copies of these please call Elkton Bank and Trust Company at (270) 265-9841 and ask for our Bill Pay department.
If I currently have an automatic debit for a bill coming out of my checking account, should I cancel this debit and use Bill Pay?
It is recommended that you NOT cancel any auto debit. Payees who have their own debit program will often not allow 3rd party processors to remit payments to them. Our main concern is that your bill be paid in a timely manner and safely.
